Applications and Eligibility
It is essential before applying that you confirm your child can attend all days of the academy (Monday 26th Oct-Thur 29th Oct). In order for Giga Training/Digital Arts Academy to draw down funding, young people must complete 26 hours of contact time during the week on a cross community basis. If your child can not attend all days we will be running academies over the next 2 years – please get in touch and a member of the team can advise on upcoming opportunities.
Parents should note that if your child has previously participated on a Belfast City Council Peace IV programme they will not be eligible to apply.
Parents should also note that children can only participant on one Peace IV Digital Arts Academy between 2020-2022. Digital Arts Academy will have paid for schemes which parents can avail of each summer.
Please note that as this academy is part of Belfast City Council Peace IV Tech Connects programme. Tech Connects is a good relations programme, a requirement of which is to collect monitoring information from your child. This will come in the form of a start of project and end of project questionaire. These questionnaires will ask about your childs backround, age, religion and perceptions of cultures and religions in ni.
All information collected is in strict confidence and inline with Giga Training and Belfast City Council Data and GDPR policy. How that data is collected, used, processed and retained is outlined on project registration documentation.
If you have any queries relating to this please get in touch with a member of the team and they will be happy to advise.
